Tell us about your mtb career/business?
My first injury was aged 3 trying to wheely a tricycle, 36 years later I'm still going and still trying….. I've raced Road, XC, Enduro and DH. In the UK, Europe and further afield. In more recent years, I tend to stick to the gravity assisted riding! In 2024 winning a round of the Spanish Nationals, 3rd at a UK National and became National Dual Slalom Champ. In 2017 I decided to turn this passion of riding and racing into a business where I could ride and hangout everyday with like minded people.. This was the beginning of Ride Southern Spain.
Tell us about your location?
Being in Southern Spain we have great weather, meaning we're open 11 months of the year, only closing for August. Our HQ, the RSS villa is within the Sierra Nevada national park, just a short walk from the historic and touristic Spa town of Lanjarón near Granada. It's in the centre of a huge trail network accessed using our legs if feeling energetic or fleet of uplift vehicles and bike trailers!
Why is your location a great place to come for a MIAS course?
Getting to RSS is very easy, with low cost daily flights in and out of Malaga and the 1h15min RSS transfer service. We have our own accommodation on site for you and non riders, throw in the uplifts and we have the complete package, you can even jump in the pool after riding! We have around 40 natural DH and Enduro trails between 250m and 1200m of vertical descent! At sea level for cooler days & 2000m above sea level for those scorching Spanish days. We also have rental bikes a fully stocked mechanics workshop, bike wash and secure storage.
What do you do when your not mountain biking?
Can’t beat spending time with family, walking the dogs and drinking Vinos on the beach with a bit of Gym and DIY in-between!
